Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ReadMeliora (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service
ReadMeliora lets you save articles, files, newsletters, and related reading material to a personal library, read them in a clean layout, and organize them with labels, highlights, and notes. Features may change as the product evolves, including during beta.
Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. Do not share your account or API key in a way that lets others act as you.
Your content
You retain ownership of the content you save (URLs, files, email you forward, highlights, notes, and labels). By using the Service, you grant ReadMeliora a limited license to host, process, display, and back up that content solely to operate the Service for you. You represent that you have the rights needed to save and process that content.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- store, share, or transmit illegal content, including child sexual abuse material or content that violates applicable law;
- distribute malware, phishing material, or other harmful code;
- harass, threaten, or harm others;
- infringe intellectual property or privacy rights;
- attempt unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems;
- abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service (including scraping or automated abuse beyond normal personal use and documented APIs);
- use the Service to violate export, sanctions, or similar restrictions.
ReadMeliora may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Storage and limits
File and related storage is subject to per-account limits. The Service may refuse uploads when your library is full. Limits may change; check Settings for your current usage when signed in.
Availability and disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” ReadMeliora does not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReadMeliora disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. ReadMeliora is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, arising from your use of the Service, except where such limitation is prohibited by law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. ReadMeliora may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, legal risk, or operational reasons. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, and governing law) survive termination.
Open-source software
ReadMeliora uses open-source libraries to parse and display content (including, among others, Mozilla Readability, PDF.js, and mammoth). Those components remain under their respective licenses. System fonts are used for the interface; no third-party webfont licenses are required for ordinary use of the Service.
Changes
We may update these Terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of New Brunswick and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in New Brunswick have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to you.
